Sunrise worked for me for around 2.5 months from December 2020 on a landscaping project with some outbuilding construction also involved. Initially the work was on a fixed-price basis, but, largely because the scope of works changed as the project evolved, the arrangement soon moved to a time-and-materials basis. In concept this was not unreasonable, but Sunrise did not notify me of their rates at the time they unilaterally changed the basis of our business arrangement. I found the standard of the workmanship generally to be just about satisfactory (my current builders/landscapers work to a far higher quality) and most of the team were pleasant enough on site, although key mistakes in basic measuring/calculation were made by Sunrise that had knock-on effects for other trades, in turn making life more difficult and expensive for me. I felt I was left with no option but to dismiss Sunrise as a result of a combination of very poor client-contractor coordination, daily rates well above local market average for the basic skills offered, and - most importantly - a lack of openness and honesty with billing and communication more generally. Receipts for items purchased were never volunteered and truth was lacking on more than one occasion - the final straw was when I discovered that more than a 100% mark-up had been applied to a small item they purchased at B&Q. I'm not prepared to accept that sort of behaviour, especially when my daily costs on Sunrise labour alone were on some days well in excess of £700. When we parted company, Sunrise's lack of professionalism continued with only cursory efforts being made to remedy damage caused by them during their works - in some instances the "repair" was rushed with so little care that it would have been better not done at all - it was very obvious that their ambition was to do the minimum necessary to get at least part of the retention I was holding released ! There are plenty of honest and reputable options out there that don't share Sunrise's focus on fleecing the client - I do not recommend employing Sunrise for landscaping or other building works.

They are cowboys of the garden trade. They have no experience or Qualifications. They don't tidy up after themselves. They don't care what noise disturbances they make to the local area. They are a joke. Avoid these Amateurs at all costs.
