I wouldn't go it you aren't local Small garden centre with a polytunnel and a few concrete areas with plants. Thought I would support a local business and stop as I was passing by. Looked a bit intimidating as was completely empty. Worked up the courage to walk over and ring the bell. The chap seemed friendly until he saw me (a woman alone) then his tone changed. I asked if he had compost "yes". When it was obvious that he wasnt going to tell me how large or how much or what type I asked "is it peat free?" - "yes" I asked to buy one bag. He told me to move my car (I also would have been happy to carry it to be honest) Didn't give me a choice which type. Lobbed it into car boot. He decided to to tell me there's no point in buying peat free compost if my car is a diesel like that (it's my husband's and we are looking to change it)

Nice nursery outside Llantwit Major on main road, plenty of parking, plus a new coffee shop there now, great for buying those plants and chilling outside after.....

Lovely little nursery, with a good selection of plant's. Great hanging baskets. They have Brambles tea room, with such friendly staff. They do lovely meals, which the chicken tikka I can highly recommend. They have gluten free cakes.

This is quite a spartan setup. No frills bells or whistles (there are some windchimes though). Perfect. Exactly what a nursery should be. A good range of shrubs, flowers, trees, etc., along with staple gardening supplies. Very friendly and helpful folk too; always nice :) The on site tea room (Brambles) is lovely; spot on for a cuppa and snack.

A really weird incident happened here today with the owner. I’d just been around the nursery and bought a plant, had a lovely conversation with the woman working there, she was very nice (the reason its two stars and not one). I was sat in my car, writing up a social media post saying how we should support local bushiness at this time. When a large man walked up to my car window and asked what I was doing here. I asked if it was a problem, to which he said yes it could be. This prompted me to get out of the car and tell him how I was writing up a social media post about this place about supporting local businesses, I’d bought a plant and was just sat in the car. At this point there was no apology for inconvenience, instead he has the audacity to accuse me of escalating the situation because I got out of the car. Please remember at this point I didn’t know who he was. As far as I was concerned he was a man asking me why I was sitting in my car. Before he confronted me he could have asked the woman working there who I was, but no. He assumed that I hadn’t bought anything. Also keep in mind that I was the only car in the car park. I then went to the office door and spoke to the woman, saying, I don’t know who this man is but he’s asking me why I was in the car park and asking me to leave. He then decided to tell me he was the owner. Repeated times during this time he came within the 2 meter distance. Which I reminded him about to which the response was I don’t care about covid. Your not going to die of covid are you. To which I told him that I work in the community where I help people who have been on ventilators, so my reasoning is because of my profession. I’m really disappointed, maybe the nursery isn’t doing to well so he was agitated. To approach the car, not tell me who he was and assume I hadn’t bought anything. Asking me what I was doing. Even if I hadn’t bought anything what signal is this sending to the customer, the impression I got was that your not welcome. Just by him questioning me why I was sat in the car. Maybe it would have been better to engage me as a customer, how was your experience? Rather than confront me while I simply sat in my car. He then proceeded to say, your on private property so leave. Yes I was agitated. Even after I told him why I was there, there was no apology. I was looking forward to visiting here again but I won’t be doing that. I wouldn’t visit here during the Covid time if the owner is going to be here also. Very sad, very sad.
