I initially contacted K T Lake on Monday 6th March, having planned to get quotes from 3 local contractors and they were one of a number I had loosely heard of in the Norwich area. Karl, who I later found out was the owner operator of KT Lake, was more than happy to accommodate my request to meet with myself and my wife the following Saturday at our house. Karl duly turned up exactly when he said he would, arriving in a white pick-up laden with transfers displaying his company name and the numerous awards his company had won which when speaking about he was rightfully proud of. During Karl’s visit to our property and listening carefully to all our requests, Karl provided samples and suggestions which we were very grateful for especially as up to that point in time we had considered employing the services of a landscape designer. In fact I had actually already made contact with one landscape designer but following Karl’s visit I took an independent decision to cancel, this later proved to be a great call and saved us almost one thousand pounds. After the meeting with Karl we felt fairly confident he was the person we wanted to deal with and after receiving a quotation from a second contractor plus the fact the third contractor failed to turn up at all, we decided to place the business with Karl. Day one Karl turned up on time at 8:00am with his team of four and this theme continued over the entire two weeks at our property, not once did we get the usual contractor trick of starting the job and disappearing to another, something most of us have experienced at some point in their life but with this contractor I needn’t have been concerned because they were there as promised every day. Our job involved quite a large patio in Porcelain slabs with block paving for the boarder and pathways in stone resin, in addition to this a fairly long dry stone wall at the end of our garden. I was slightly apprehensive how much of the mature lawn and garden of our 1930’s house would be disturbed with the digger etc, however we needn’t have been concerned because of the great care that was taken laying numerous boards to protect lawn and the tidiness of the work from day one immediately put our mind at rest, this attention to care continued through the entire job. I particularly liked the level of communication, most days being asked if we were happy with how it was going along with the fact that Karl’s team led by his son Declan we were always informed and up to date with the latest developments, even when we changed our mind on the product to be used for the dry-stone wall nothing seemed to phase Karl or his team. I can honestly say that having work done on your home could easily turn into a nightmare but our experience with K T Lake was an absolute pleasure, each member of his team was friendly & approachable which must say quite a lot about the company they work for. On the important subject of money, K T Lake provided us with a very competitive quote and they did exactly as promised, coming in on budget despite the extras and ‘can you just’ that we asked for along the way. One example of the extras we requested was carrying out a relocation of plants & bushes around the garden, this was a lovely touch and something we certainly didn’t expect to be included, they even re-laid several stepping stones which tied in with the new patio and made good areas not quoted for, we were delighted when none of this affected the price we had agreed. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending K T Lake, Karl, Declan, Darren, Jordan and Kevin, they are highly skilled professionals with a great work ethic and the desire to exceed your expectations. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of contractor and the quality of the work carried out because my patio, paths & wall look amazing, it’s rare in today’s world that anyone surprises me with their service but this is a fine example and we are extremely grateful for the excellent service we received. My partner and I recently had a brickweave driveway installed by KT Lake.Karl came round to quote and was polite honest and very helpful.The work was booked in and the team turned up it was like watching a military operation and everyone on site worked hard to get the job done .Materials turned up promptly and there was minimal disruption to neighbours while the work was done.It was quite a big job and was fully completed in 2 days from start to finish.The resulting driveway was beautifully done and we were very happy with the results.Id also like to say that within an hour of the job being finished Mr Lake phoned to check we were happy and pleased with everything and if there was anything we weren't happy with.I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a professional driveway job done.A big thank you to Karl his son and the rest of his team .Thanks Mr Escandon.
