Do you require the assistance of an experienced groundworks West Sussex team? Then call KST groundworkers for a free quotation. Based in Bognor Regis, we specialise in concrete footings and foundations, driveways, landscaping, bulk excavating and ground preparation, mass concrete pours and all aspects of drainage. We work on domestic and commercial projects and pride ourselves on our professional and approachable groundwork service, from our first site visit to signing off the works. Our groundworks company has many different skills and services to suit all construction projects, using the latest diggers and machinery. We promise to complete all jobs on time and within budget. Our experience ranges from civil groundworks to hard landscaping surfaces. A foundation, also known as a footing, is the base of the building that is in direct contact with the ground (soil). It works to spread the load of the structure evenly and transfer loads safely into the ground without excessive movement or damage to the building. Our groundworks Sussex team perform all kinds of foundations and floor constructions. There are many types of foundations, these being – shallow foundations, individual footings or isolated footings, strip foundations and pad and raft foundations. On certain groundwork projects we may need to install pile foundations or deep foundations depending on ground conditions and/or certain materials being used. Once a foundation has been poured and cured then building work to the substructure can begin. There are two main types of oversites. The first method is solid fill. Essentially, once the foundations have been poured and the substructure blockwork has been formed the oversite is filled. It is first filled with well compacted material such us MOT Type 1, then blinded in a thin layer of sand and then damp proofed with a damp proof membrane (DPM) before its filled with concrete to a specific height. The second method is beam and block floor (suspended floor), slightly different to the solid fill as in essence the internal skin of the substructure blockwork acts as a load bearing point for the beam instead of a casing for the concrete pour (method 1). The beams are laid out on the block walls with a minimum void of 150mm from underside of beam to the ground (oversite). Again, the oversite is blinded with a thin layer of sand. The beams are then infilled with blocks and slurried with sand and cement. Our experienced groundworkers will prepare the ground for new foul and surface water drainage to be installed or current drainage to be inspected. We can carry out any repairs or modifications to any existing drainage system if needed. We also carry out clay drainage groundworks on main line sewers; we work alongside local authorities doing so predominantly Southern water and Portsmouth water. Our groundwork services also extend to superstructure brick and blockwork. Over at KST Brickwork LTD, we will create your new living spaces by building a new extension on your existing property. We also build one-off bespoke new builds, working alongside local and trusted architects and developers. We can build retaining walls using brick and block, timber sleepers, or reinforced concrete pours. This can then be cladded in natural stone, feature brickwork or manufactured stone. We can carry out a complete repointing service for modern or period properties. We also undertake smaller projects such as building your garden or boundary wall. All superstructure brick and block work will be handed over from KST Groundworks LTD once the groundworks are complete. These walls can help with managing ground slopes, water drainage and erosion issues and gaining space on your land. The most common method of a retaining wall (cantilever) works by installing a concrete foundation, that is generally wider than the wall its self is tall. The wall then sits on the front of the foundation, the rear of the foundation (the heel) is then pinned down with back fill and a drain system is installed (French drain). The front of the foundation (the toe) is typically cladded in brickwork or stonework and is treated as a facade. We can also repair or take down and rebuild existing retaining walls using specialist groundworks equipment, including diggers. Our excavating groundworks service consists of removing or “excavating” earth, topsoil and rock with diggers and other tools. By excavating, we can create trenches, holes, cavities, wall shafts and underground tunnelling using diggers and other machinery. During our excavating process, we will ensure that all materials are cleared, reused, or disposed of from the site. Excavating is also essential for exploration and environmental restoration. If you have an excavating project for which you would like a quotation, please get in touch with us, and one of our excavating specialists will arrange a visit. This is executed when the existing foundations need to be made deeper, so that the ground rests on deeper soil that is of a higher bearing capacity. This is generally used for adding a basement to an existing building or the existing foundations are not meeting regulations. If your property is not attached to a main sewer line you will more than likely require a septic tank system. This will be installed underground to hold wastewater and have a soil absorption system to separate clean wastewater back onto the land. Our team of groundworkers will take care of all aspects of the installation. If you are knocking down an existing building and want it removed from the site, our groundworks company can do this for you. This can include mass removal of soil and trees using diggers and dump trucks. The surfaces will then be reduced and levelled by our groundworkers, ready for your construction work to begin. KST groundworkers can install beautiful hard landscaped surfaces to compliment your property using sandstone slabs or porcelain paving for patios. Using our diggers and plant machinery, we can install shingle driveways, concrete driveways, tarmac driveways and most commonly block paving driveways. We also offer bonding of surfaces, cleaning and sealing driveways. Contact us for more information on our driveways and landscaping groundworks services. Our groundworks West Sussex estimator likes to get a feel for the environment our team will be working in. They will check access, to ensure all machinery, diggers, delivery lorries and aggregate/concrete lorries can access the area with ease. They will also analyse the groundworks location and take time to view the surroundings. Measurements and images may be taken for our records to help us with our quotation process. We ask all our groundwork customers to provide us with copies of all plans, scope of works and any extra information you may have about the project. We also ask that you are at the correct stage of your project before you contact us for a visit as we like to check that planning permission, party wall agreements etc are all in place. Our teams of Sussex groundworkers are qualified and trained with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the trade. Our plant operatives come with heavy machinery tickets. All members of staff are fully health and safety trained to the latest regulations. If you are looking for trusted groundworkers and would like more information regarding our driveways, landscaping or other groundworks West Sussex services or to book a site survey to obtain a free quotation for your construction works, then please get in touch with us via our website form, email or even give us a call.

I am a local property developer and construction project manager who has used KST for complex groundwork, civil, landscaping and brickwork tenders across 3 multi-unit new build sites. KST are knowledgable, helpful and efficient. Whether laying sewers for adoption, building houses from soil break to roof or providing finishing packages of driveways and patios, work has always been delivered on time and to a great standard. I intend to continue to use KST as a subcontractor in my upcoming projects.
