Walled garden with decking
We used gabions – metal baskets filled with stone – to create a stunning and sustainable wall for this garden. The gabions were filled with stone reclaimed from the site. Not only is this great for the environment as no transport was involved, it complements and blends into the surrounding landscape.
Softwood decking offers a children’s play space and an informal sitting area. The original back garden was excavated to provide a sheltered oasis, away from the prevailing winds.
An innovative water feature runs along two sides of the decking, giving texture and movement to the decking area.
The natural stone blends effortlessly with the stonework of the farmhouse.
