Quirky show rooms but then the plant areas were higgidely piggledy for the trees, bushes. Other areas were better. I'd certainly return because it's not part of a huge chain where everything is uniform and sterile. Breakfast sandwich I'd fully recommend and the slices of cake.

It was like something off a zombie film.. no one there and a total mess. I felt sorry for the staff as maybe times were tough or something. Looked like half the plants were dead and stock (eg a lawnmower) which looked as if it has been there for the last ten years....unsold...due to it being twice the cost as Argos..... Was pricey too and I just that if the owners put a bit of effort in cleaning up their stock and putting it in some order it would be so much better. When we went it had been very windy in the morning but clearly the calmer afternoon and complete lack of any customers meant it wasn't the right time to pick up any of the stock!

Visited on the recommendation of a friend who spoke highly of High Trees who last visited a few years ago. Unfortunately everything felt a bit dilapidated and uncared for. Many of the plants looked sad and made me feel like I'd be rescuing them by buying them. There was an air of disorganisation about the place with it being unclear which areas were open to the public and which were meant to be closed. It feels like it had previously been a charming independent garden centre that has fallen on hard times more recently. They do have a good range of old ladders, buckets, baths etc. which would feel at home in a cottage garden which I haven't seen at many other garden centres. I wish them all the best and hope they are able to turn things around as it's great having a variety of different garden centres to visit in the area.

Wow, just been in again after probably about a year, it's awful, I know it's up for sale and just coming out of Winter but it's fallen into disrepair, especially the outside. Plants looking awful, tipped over, overgrown paths yet all the plants are still full price. I love independent garden centres but £130 for a very small Dicksonia Antarctica which obviously hasn't been protected over winter and is pretty much dead? Made me sad as a plantsman, hopefully they will get a buyer soon who can invest again. Edit : what an unprofessional response from the owner, certainly lost my custom and the 19k gardeners in my group
