We are delighted with the results of our building project which Hann Design Studio managed for us. This was to provide a new ground floor layout, kitchen and downstairs w/c. Kate discussed the options with us and provided scale drawings for our consideration guiding the project through the difficult COVID lockdown period. She ensured our compliance with all structural, planning and Building Control legislation whilst staying within our budget. Kate held regular project reviews with a calm efficiency and oversaw the tender process to appoint an excellent building company in High Spec Building Ltd. We would highly recommend the Hann Design studio to anyone considering a building project.

We are so delighted with our extension that Kate designed. She problem solved to create a master bedroom out of a box room, produced a cost effective downstairs plan and then added some "wow" design elements. She really thought about our family's needs. She was patient while we dithered about and changed things, and most importantly was brilliant at liaising with planning staff; presenting evidence clearly and compellingly, and fighting our corner with professionalism and expertise. We love our new space - thank you Hann Design Studio!

Kate worked with us to turn this boring terrace into a modern well functioning house without losing the charm. We carried out a major extension and while we had some idea of what we wanted, Kate turned the new kitchen/dining area into a light and interesting space. Kate incorporated a double glazed window that I had marked for the skip, successfully improving the middle room and connecting the spaces. The inclusion of a toilet beneath the stairs was neat. To our surprise she suggested removing the chimney breast in the middle room and that changed the room. The lack of returns and the extra width transformed the usefulness of the room. Kate listened to us, delivered drawing and advice on time and, as well as putting forward great suggestions, saved us from a number of wrong turnings. The result was very effective and has received many compliments. We would without hesitation recommend her.

Kate was excellent and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an architect. She met me and we discussed my ideas. She spent a day measuring my house and drew up existing plans and plans of possible ideas which we discussed and she further refined my preferred option. She listened carefully to my wishes and patiently answered my questions (there were many as I’d never done anything like this before!) Her vision was amazing and what she came up with is brilliant - so much better than I’d ever thought possible. She has transformed my home from a 3 bedroom house (2 doubles and a box room) to one with 4 double bedrooms and character, and a large family space downstairs that’s great for entertaining too. Many friends who have visited have commented on how well she’s used the existing space and transformed it. Kate also sorted out all the paperwork for planning permission and met the planner with me on site, which I have no doubt helped getting approval. And she advised on materials, e.g. for the cladding. Her price was very reasonable too. I will be forever grateful to Kate for what she helped me achieve for my home. Thanks, Kate!
