Right from the start, choosing the right landscape contractor for your garden project is paramount, that's why it’s important that you get it right first time to avoid any unnecessary stress, worry, money issues, build quality, customer relationship problems between all parties involved. Essential care and consideration for good general site management (keeping your property, your drive and any adjoining neighbouring property), areas are kept as tidy as possible throughout the duration of the project.

So, you want the best contractor for the job.

To start, you want a good first impression of the contractor on your first meet, you want service, good communication skills to chat over parts of the project as you go along should you wish to, especially during the construction process when you may want to add or make any minor changes to your new garden before the completion date.

I would suggest obtaining at least 3x quotations for the proposed work, as costs can vary considerably and also seek previous work references for your peace of mind.

Public liability insurance is key too, any proper tradesperson worth his or her salt would already have this insurance cover in place for all work carried out.

Always make sure a working contract is well set up before any commencement of work as this is a very important factor indeed, including the quotation agreed and accepted, items of work, the scheduled stage payments are set up clearly in the agreement for the project to help the contractor’s cash flow and of course to aid customers budgeting for when payments are due for all parts of the project and so on.
