After the recent heavy storm i called up EJM about a very large conifer which was hung up over a small country road. Within 1 hour of the phonecall they were on site cutting it up. They worked right into the night to ensure the tree was properly dealt with and road users would be safe. They made a very tidy job! Good work boys! These guys are top notch! I called them after my huge magnolia tree was severely damaged in the recent high winds and they came round straight away and made a great job of saving what was left of the beautiful tree. Nothing was to much trouble and they even tidied up all the fallen braches for me. These guys are top notch! We would like to say thank you to EJM and especially Stuart and Eddie and their team on site for the removal of a very large conifer in a somewhat awkward position and confined space, turned up on time and left afterwards with no mess what so ever. EJM were engaged to remove a significant number of ash trees from St. John's Marlborough Academy, a large Academy with roughly 1700 students and 200 staff and large grounds. Stuart Mitchel came out to quote and was both professional and knowledgeable. He was able to advise on how work would be carried out and was considerate of our particular environment with regards to minimising any damage to playing fields and hedgerows and also the safety of our students and staff as well as his own operatives. EJM tendered for the work with other companies and came out the cheapest and best value for the whole project so it was an easy choice to engage them for the work. Stuart even came out again at our request once we had ordered the work to discuss the impact with a neighbour and, at our suggestion, organised with the neighbour to remove a tree from their land while working on ours so all of us benefited. When on site during the work, which took place during the summer holidays, the operatives were prompt and courteous. EJM provides very detailed RAMS and operatives appeared to wear the necessary PPE and put out signage clearly delineating an area of work. I was unable to approach these areas without being met by vigilant staff before I reached them. The work took approximately 4 days and Stuart was on site the first and last days to make sure we were happy with the work. He also looked to undertake small extra works with his on site operatives to make sure we were happy and the site was left tidy and safe as we desired. EJM was well equipped to handle the works which included removing small ash trees, tall ash trees with difficult access and ash trees of a very significant size from very difficult positions. Their operatives used equipment ranging from small chainsaws and pole saws up to a machine which was able to cut and grab large sections of trees and a chipper that was able to chip trunks that I would guess were at least half a metre in diameter. This kept their operatives mainly at ground level and significantly improved their safety. I would have to say that EJM rank as one of the highest quality contractors that I have ever engaged in more than a decade as the Site Manager here. We made a plan together and they followed it through exactly and went above and beyond to ensure the job was done correctly and that we were happy with it, which we were very much so. Something that I always appreciate with companies is when they find the balance of being extremely capable and well equipped to do their works but still being grounded enough that you have the sense that everyone from the admin through the senior staff to the operatives know each other, are knowledgeable about what they do and are respectful of each other's experience and opinions. I got to see this through my correspondence with Jo Mant who is a Director, Amy in administration, Stuart as an operations manager and Sam as an operative which demonstrates their genuine interest and concern about us as a customer and themselves as a business. I would not hesitate to use them again.
