The value of good design is not to be sniffed at! When planning a development, the money being spent it is often a substantial amount. EDITE will always give you our honest opinion with regard to where to spend the money and the best design decisions. We aim to resolve existing issues within the plans, to simplify the design to work with as much of the existing structure. How you and your family will use your home, now and in the future. The process of building is complicated; The Planning Process and negotiation of the Local Policy, the Construction Process, design and specification. We have the skill and know-how to design you a beautiful home, plan a development and lead you through all aspects of an increasingly complex construction process. /ut_one_half Service providers that use the terms ‘architectural designer’ or general ‘architectural service’ is not clearly defined by law and therefore minimises the protection you have. The use of the title Architect is considered a quality mark for the standard of service, care and persons qualification to do the things that architects do. It is protected by law and may only be used by registered persons, the register for which is overseen by the Architects Registration Board (arb). A professional Architect will be expected to:- Hold appropriate degree level qualifications and be registered with ARB, hold an appropriate level of Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) cover and maintains CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training. The ARB and RIBA websites offer further guidance on the benefits of using a Registered Architect. |EDITE| believes that the environment is fragile, much like Newtons law…OK ok, so we may be taking the physics out of context but the sentiment is there! As all professionals in the construction industry, we have to hold our hands up and recognise that making things affects the planet and its resources. As such, the future. No one really knows what’s going to happen, but you can be sure that as the struggle for energy continues, fuel prices will rise, so why not make sensible decisions now, to make sure that you’re not paying later? The issue of “Social Sustainability” combines design of the physical with design of the social world. It is the infrastructure designed to support social + cultural life, social amenities and systems for citizen engagement and space for people and places to evolve. |EDITE| believes that buildings have an impact on everyone, be it the user, the neighbour or the person that walks past on their way to work. We like to create beautiful buildings and beautiful spaces. There are the usual environmental impacts of the construction industry, but at |EDITE| we are committed to improving the physical environments of those around us. To this extent, each year, we put aside funds to allow us to choose a public or community project to help the community get started. It’s simple, we want to help. |EDITE| strives to reduce waste as a result of the work we do, but is also well aware that resources such as paper are a necessary requirement for production of drawings and specification. When we start a project with you, we will set up a remote server that you will have access to. This means that along with e-mail, we can minimise the paper copies that we will need to produce, you can simply mark up the drawings, scan them and upload them onto the server. (This doesn’t mean you’ll get nothing, this is just our pledge to minimise waste!). We are currently looking into ways to further reduce this impact of using paper including donating funds to replenish tree stocks in the Amazon. If you have any information or suggestions with regard to minimising impact, do let us know! |EDITE| takes its Duty of Care, Architects Registration Board (arb) and the RIBA Code of Conduct seriously. Unlike other designers that cannot trade under the title of “architect”, we represent a quality standard and are regulated as such. As a result of this you can be assured that the practices and projects we undertake are ethically grounded.

I would absolutely recommend Sarah and Edite. Several years after our project was completed it has delivered on exactly what we were looking for when we first discussed the project with Sarah and it has transformed our use of the downstairs of our house.
