The bird seed is very expensive but probably not their fault. Café is lovely and decent options. They do oat milk for vegans which is a plus. Very light and airy, so feels pretty safe from a pandemic viewpoint as well.

Went here for a birthday party, meal, soft play and a general look around the garden centre. The food was nice, and the server was really reliable and the cafe looks nice. However, the toilets were absolutely disgusting. It looked like they hadn't been cleaned all day. I had to keep going from one to the other to find one that didn't have poo stains, period blood, or blocked.

The person seating us in the cafe gave us a table for 4, there were lots of other tables for larger groups available and there were 5 of us so I asked for a larger table and got told to pull an extra chair over myself. It took a very long time for our order to be taken, we asked the person cleaning the table next to ours if we could please place our order with her but we're told "I'm doing lots of other jobs" When the food arrived it was all cold and we had to wait for such a long time between 4 of the meals arriving and the 5th coming out to the point we thought it had been forgotten.

I decided to go to Dobbies as I wanted somewhere to take my parents out for lunch and give my one-year-old somewhere to play. They serve food and have a decent play area, so it makes sense - but we didn't have a great experience on this occasion. When we entered the dining area, someone showed us to a table. We waited 10 or so minutes without anyone to coming over to serve us, so we flagged someone down. That person was, I believe, the manager, she started off by telling us that we shouldn't be sitting in this area. When we told her that we were shown these seats and told to sit here, she told us that she shouldn't have done that and it was wrong for it to do so - not very professional and it made us feel uncomfortable. The manager then walked off and told us someone would be over to take our order, after waiting some time again we had to flag someone down. It then became apparent that they didn't have a number of the items on their menu, in fact we really only left with three things to choose from. They didn’t even have any coffee! We had toasties, and then when it was time we moved into the soft play area and I will say that my one-year-old had a great time there. I appreciate that sometimes things just don't go well, so we will be back again shortly to see if we can have a better experience.
