Locally sourced, with much grown in our own kitchen garden, dishes are created to ooze flavour and tempt the taste buds. Here at The Carpenters Arms, we celebrate the fact that we are part of Provenance Inns and have unrivalled access to our very own kitchen garden, less than one mile away at Mount St. John. It is our belief that keeping the food miles low and the quality high is the simple route to a successful food-based yet experiential business. Once we layer into that our excellent working partnerships with locally sourced, Yorkshire-based suppliers to further enhance our offering, we have the seasonal delights that you see in our creative and mouth-watering menus. Nipped in on the off chance while passing and what a place to have accidentally found. Luckily was in before the kitchen closed and were seated immediately. From that point on the staff have been so attentive. Looked after by Izzy who has been fantastic. The food was outstanding and the price was incredible considering the quality and service. Will definitely be back.

Return on 05 / 06 / 2022. Though would give it another go because overall it's a really nice place . Was greeted with a cheerful chap very jolly We went for Sunday lunch. The soup starter the bowl about quarter full which was disappointing and half a slice of bread as it was £7 😱 and had to be returned as it was luke warm came back bowl hot and soup just a bit warmer . Main course spot on and so was the price. Didn't notice service charge on paying so extra 🌟

Had lunch here today, and must say it was a superb experience in every way. Food, drink and service were all excellent, and the location has to be among the very best in Yorkshire if not the whole country. Go. It will cheer you up and make you feel worthy of your place in this world.

Popped in late in the afternoon with a friend on the off chance we might get a bite to eat. Although the kitchen was closing they very kindly rustled up some delicious goats cheese pesto ciabatta with chips. What especially stood out was the professionalism & charm of the staff, what a lovely team. I don’t often comment on things, but the staff really deserve a mention- thank you.

Unbelievable. The food was fantastic, the restaurant itself absolutely beautiful in such a picturesque part of the UK. Re booked whilst eating. Really is the best restaurant in the North. Could not recommend this highly enough, in every regard.
