I was recommended this company, found it proffesional the two lads he has working for him are troopers, bit disappointed on the finishing touches as just cements on areas ! Then paid up front for my daughters garden, she was very dissatisfied with the result, unsure how to rate Brian Humphries as found him quite arrogant and conceited

A few weeks ago we hired Brian Humphries Garden Landscapes in Widnes to do a new patio in our garden. He showed me a picture of one he had previously done and I advised I would like mine just like that. Day 1 the ‘paver’ left the job after 3 hours, Brian couldn’t get hold of him and in the evening text to say he’d be there in the morning, he didn’t turn until 2pm..Instead of digging the patio level he raised it leaving us with a step. To the eye the patio looked faultless and everything seemed ok for a few days until the cement began to crumble and paving stones became loose. I was also unhappy with the finish of the block paving, we were told the sand was to keep it in place and it would wash away however it was sand cement, it’s completely stuck and looks horrific. I gave Brian three opportunities to correct the work, the first one he failed to turn up, the second he turned up and said there wasn’t enough water used in the cement and he would return two days later, again he failed to turn up and when my husband rang him he said he would come the next day, again no Brian. I then got someone else in for a second opinion and was told the wrong cement had been used. I then asked Brian for a partial refund to cover the cost of repair even though at this point I was probably entitled to a full refund... Brian rang me and was roaring down the phone saying he was on his way. I told him he’d had enough opportunities and now I was reluctant to let him fix it. His son turned up within 30 minutes and told me he would remove all of the cement and replace it with silicone. He said he would also fix the loose stones. He also apologised for the poor service we’d received both from the paver and his dad shouting at me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to do it only half way through after leaving gaping holes in the cement he told me there wasn’t anything wrong with it and he was going to fill it back in with the same brand of cement. He also said he couldn’t find any loose paving stones 😂 At this point I told him to leave and arrange for my refund. 24 hours later I text Brian again for my refund and he said his son doesn’t think it’s as bad as I say. The pictures speak for themselves. Times are hard at the minute for everyone and I would never try to destroy anyone’s business but I also think it goes both ways and no one should be ripped off by someone claiming to be a professional...Given our current situation I wanted to give my children a nice safe garden to play in, especially my 18 month old son, currently it’s a health and safety hazard. Please see the pictures. Also my patio looks nothing like the picture he showed me but I could of lived with that had the work not been so poor. Update...Brian attended my house to look at the work and was rude and obnoxious and clearly him and his son have major problems being spoken to by a woman. Would not admit any fault and blamed the paver who he apparently hasn’t seen since the day he left my house, despite him being employed by him for years. I have now contacted trading standards and will seek legal advise. Also Brian hasn’t had any reviews for a few years and since I listened mine he’s had 4 new ones. Do not be fooled by this con man. My experience with Mr Humphries cannot be measured as he didnt do either myself or my husband the courtesy of replying to the phone messages or e mails we left/sent. We have since found another landscape gardener who replied aand even visited to give us a quote for the work.

Brian and his son did a great job turfing our garden and building a planter. Looks great and would hire them again
