We asked Bel to help us to bring all areas of our garden together following an extension to our house. We were reasonably happy with the original layout but felt that there was no ‘flow’ between the courtyard and planting areas to the rear. We also felt that the courtyard was very bland, needing a clever planting scheme. Bel came up with a design sympathetic to the rural surroundings and achieved our brief of pulling everything together through a clever use of materials and planting. We are not keen gardeners and Bel designed low-maintenance planting, including an irrigation system, raised oak beds and improved original features by adding wooden strip cladding. Bel planted our garden out in the heat of the summer 2022 and returned after planting to check that the irrigation system was working effectively. She has since been back to check on progress and give further invaluable advice on maintenance throughout the seasons. (On top of the detailed briefing notes she supplied) Bel is always extremely professional, quick to respond and genuinely cares that we are happy with the end result. She also recommended Hortus landscaping who carried out Bels designs perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend Bel.

Our brief to Bel was in two parts, help us turn an unused paddock into a more private space whilst retaining a natural feel, and re-design and plant our cottage garden. Bel designed a bund around our shepherds hut planted with 600 native tress and bushes, and created a mixed wildflower meadow showcasing a very old apple tree. We are delighted with the results having seen it grow in its first year, and we can't see to see it mature in the second. The cottage garden was re-designed in keeping with our wishes, and she has left us with a very lovely varied and private cottage garden. Leaving us after a couple of years work (COVID), Bel has left us with very comprehensive care lists that will allow us to look after the plants and flowers which is invaluable to us novice gardeners. We asked Bel to design both our front and rear gardens from scratch. She listened to our needs and requirements and came up with a plan to match. Bel completed the initial design, subsequent planting plan and all the planting when the construction was complete. She has left us with a planting plan showing where each plant is located, descriptions of each plant and maintenance schedules. We can’t wait to enjoy the garden in the summer and see all the flowers in bloom! Bel has been courteous, professional, and clear with all her dealings. The designs were exactly what we wanted and have been executed to high standard. Her communication and support throughout the design, construction and planting has been superb, and we are delighted with the outcome. I would highly recommend Bel and her work.

My husband and I live in an old farmhouse and recently undertook an extensive building project with the house. New roof, windows, heating and complete internal redesign. We then had to tackle the garden. Bel was well recommended by a friend and she was exactly what we needed. She listened carefully to our thoughts and ideas then incorporated these in her garden landscape design which compliments the house beautifully. We have designated places to sit during the day as the sun moves around. She then produced a planting design (again incorporating our favourite flowers). The colours, position and variation of flowers and shrubs are frequently admired by visitors. More importantly, we are thrilled with the results. We also have an extensive care plan to follow so that maintenance is much easier. We are very happy with these results and enjoyed working with Bel, her knowledge and flair have been invaluable.

At every stage of the design process we were supported by Bel. An excellent plantswoman with an eye for detail we have been lead through a complicated renovation and at each stage Bel has made suggestions from her experience about who to deal with and how to get the job done. As a wheelchair user she was sympathetic to our requirements and how we would best be able to move around and use the garden. The project took well over a year to plan and execute but great things do not happen overnight and this has turned out to be a great garden. Thank you, Bel.
