Bayleaf Gardening was established in Salcombe, Devon in 2003 and provides all year round garden maintenance and design for local gardens and holiday homes.

We are renowned for our reliable, friendly and professional service. To date we are working on 98% recommendation. There is no job too big or small with our qualified staff looking after your every need.

As well as gardeners we have regular builders and tree surgeons sub contracted to help with our projects.

I used this company a number of times for unchallenging garden jobs, will not be using them again and do not recommend. I noticed during and after completion, their staff seem to cut corners and rush jobs, the minimum amount of work necessary while their employers are charging customers top whack. Not competitively priced for quality of materials and standard of work performed, compared to other local businesses (which were all fully booked unfortunately). Customers might well be left with lots of detailing and mess to sort out after completion too. If you are physically capable, just do the work yourself. The projects they worked on caused me more hassle and further expense than not. Eg Asked their resident fencer to use galvanised nails and paid extra for that - they didn't bother, they all rusted 7 months later. I ended up reinforcing ALL the work their employees had done. Absolutely useless. No benefit in using them and unsatisfied with the quality of work for the money. To their credit they turned up on time and communications were good but that's about it. Don't like leaving negative reviews for local business but just extremely disappointing. Please avoid or perhaps be sorry. Re: What's the point of your response? Other than to bait reviewers into revealing themselves for some potential mischief on your part? You've hardly proved yourselves trustworthy, on more than one occasion. We have the invoices, we can prove we used you. Documented faults in a YouTube video too. As stated, I personally worked on defects your staff neglected. I wouldn't want your crew anywhere near our property again to rectify anything, fail to see how productive your response is under any circumstance. Just make sure your staff don't cut corners, then you wouldn't have blunt reviews like this. Simple. Compared to other local services, yours was abysmal and overpriced.

Bayleaf have looked after the garden of our holiday home since 2012 and we are very happy with the service they provide. They are very reliable which is very important as we are not always at the property. They are always pleasant and courteous. They keep the garden looking tidy and cared for and will always carry out any task we request. We would certainly recommend them.

We employed Bayleaf Gardening Services in April 2019 to care for 3 acres of grounds with shrubs and extensive grassed areas. We previously employed a single chap so a company with several employees was a new experience. They have proved to be reliable, friendly, helpful and responsive. I feel happy to drop them an email if something needs particular attention and they are always pleased to help. Our grassed areas look much better since we started this contract.

Love Bayleaf Gardening! The owner Judith has transformed my plain, tired garden areas into beautiful spaces full of greenery & lusciousness. She drew up detailed plans & costings with full input as to how I envisaged it looking. She delivered fully, and whilst I was very sceptical of 2 ‘stumps’ that arrived for the back garden, I’ve been rewarded by the most beautiful Dicksonia ferns! Then her team turn up regularly to weed, cutback and tidy. Great boys & girls and nothing is ever too much bother, plus they tidy up behind them.
